Michael White, Principal

Michael is a Registered Landscape Architect and the owner of Symbio Design. He’s passionate about diving into the details of each project with the client to deliver the best possible solution for their outdoor experience. Through creativity and understanding of people’s needs, he’s committed to making our outdoor environments a better experience.

He is LEED AP certified and advocates for sustainable landscape practices wherever appropriate. As a proponent for collaborative team methods, Michael is experienced at working with teams of owners, architects, engineers, and builders to develop successful outdoor spaces.

Prior to establishing Symbio Design, Michael worked as a Senior Landscape Architect for Pressley Associates, Inc., on many award-winning projects. While there Michael was a key team member in the design of private residential, healthcare, institutional, corporate and historic restoration projects. Michael also gained valuable experience in custom residential landscape design while working for Dan K. Gordon Associates and in large land planning projects while working with The Waterfield Design Group.

 


William Pardy, Design Director

William Pardy is the Design Director and a project leader for Symbio Design. His passion lies in creating outdoor spaces that invite people to make stronger connections with nature, allowing them to develop a deeper appreciation of it.

William works closely with property owners and architects to design and manage complex landscape projects that enhance the experience of the users. Working in a team-oriented environment, William is involved in all phases of a project from preliminary design through final construction and is well versed and experienced in collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors.

In addition to landscape design, William is a talented artist and painter, working in many styles. His diverse creative talent allows him the ability to develop unique design solutions that respond to each client’s specifications, lifestyle, and property.
 
Prior to Symbio Design, William worked on many award-winning projects as a Project Manager for Pressley Associates, Inc. He was instrumental in the design of a range of private residential estates, and a variety of institutional, corporate and historic landscape restoration projects.

 


Yifan Kong, Landscape Designer

Yifan Kong joined Symbio Design as a landscape designer in 2017. Her design perspective is influenced by her background in both Ecology and Landscape Architecture. She is highly skilled in employing multiple representation methods including 3D modeling and computer graphics renderings to effectively communicate many aspects of a design.

Before joining Symbio Design, she worked internationally with AECOM, Guangzhou, China and TAKANO Landscape & Planning, Hokkaido, Japan. She speaks several languages and is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Japanese. During her academic and professional practice, she has developed a deep interest in environmental science, furniture design, and printmaking, all which feed into her landscape design breadth.

Yifan received a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from East China Normal University in Shanghai, China and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design.

 


Yameng Xin, Landscape Designer

Yameng Xin joined Symbio Design as an intern while completing her Master of Landscape Architecture Degree at Boston Architectural College. Her studies in ecology restoration, her interest in taxonomy and her talents in computer modeling fuel the rigor she employs in developing computer models and graphics to illustrate design concepts.

Yameng is skilled in Revit, AutoCAD, and Photoshop through which she communicates and documents projects. She also has personal interest and many years of training in hand drawing and painting in many media types.

Before joining Symbio Design, she worked internationally for a local landscape architecture firm on the Qingdao Design Institute, Qingdao, China. She received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from East China Normal University in Shanghai, China.
